Family Sponsorship

Reuniting Families Is At the Heart of Canada’s Immigration System

Through Family Sponsorship, Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor close family members to join them in Canada as permanent residents.

At Lian Visa, we handle these applications with care and precision — recognizing that behind every file is a family waiting to be together.

Who You Can Sponsor

Canada offers several family sponsorship categories, each with its own eligibility criteria and documentation requirements.

You may be able to sponsor:

  • Your spouse or common-law partner
  • Your dependent children
  • Your parents or grandparents, under the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP)*
  • In limited cases, other close relatives when no immediate family members qualify

We help clients prepare their sponsorship packages in advance, ensuring that once an invitation is received, the file is ready to be submitted without delay.

*The Parents and Grandparents Program operates under a yearly intake and invitation system, which can make timing and accuracy critical.

How We Help

We support both the sponsor and the applicant through every stage of the process — from eligibility checks to submission and follow-up.
Our work includes:

  • Assessing eligibility for both sponsor and applicant
  • Preparing all sponsorship and permanent residence forms
  • Reviewing supporting documents such as proof of relationship, financial capacity, and communication records
  • Writing a tailored submission letter that addresses the unique details of your family relationship
  • Handling procedural fairness letters or document requests, if they arise

If Your Application Was Refused

A refusal can be deeply discouraging, especially when it involves family.

We help clients remedy refusals by analyzing the Officer’s Decision Notes (ODN), identifying issues, and rebuilding the application with stronger explanations and evidence.
